Chief Syndicate Officer
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Chief Syndicate Officer (“CSO”) will report to the Chief Executive Officer. The CSO will lead a team of Associates, Senior Associates, Vice Presidents and/or more senior investment professionals to build and manage a professional global syndicate of FINRA registered broker-dealers, family offices, private equity firms, venture capital firms and hedge funds, (collectively, “PreIPO® Capital Sources”). The CSO will direct the syndicate to raise capital as a means to fund Primary and Secondary Market offerings (“pre-IPOs”) including everything from ‘Seed to Unicorn’ portfolio companies, packaged as SPVs, LLPs and/or Funds, (collectively, the “PreIPO® Deal Flow”) that have been on boarded to the PreIPO® platform. As a member of the C-Suite, the CSO contributes thought leadership across the PreIPO® platform of offerings.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build a ready syndicate of qualified PreIPO® Capital Sources
- Fund the multi-billion-dollar PreIPO® Deal Flow
- Build and lead a proven team of industry professionals to build the PreIPO® syndicate
- Facilitate the capital formation process that matches PreIPO® Capital Sources to PreIPO® Deal Flow
- Pursue and recruit syndicate members domestically and internationally
- Promote and protect the PreIPO® brand
- Participate as a member of the PreIPO® Investment Committee
QUALIFICATIONS
- FINRA Licensed Series 7 & 63 preferred (Series 24 a plus)
- Proven history of raising capital through broker-dealers and/or family officers and/or private equity firms and/or venture capital firms and/or hedge funds
- Candidates who have been successful as a Managing Director of a either VC or PE or HF or BD firm with a “book” of institutional quality investors
- Approximately 10+ years of successful direct private equity capital raising
- Full direct deal cycle experience, including strategy setting, sector evaluation and investment thesis development, sourcing, structuring, performing due diligence, legal documentation, closing, portfolio management, and exits are all a plus
- Strong sourcing network and ability to cultivate new, productive relationships, especially in private placement offerings
- Experience operating in domestic, international, and emerging market contexts preferred
- Ability to demonstrate a creative, flexible, resourceful, and disciplined approach to driving a complex mission-driven investment program Travel required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- M.B.A. or graduate degree in finance preferred
- Experience operating in domestic, international, and emerging market contexts preferred
- Most importantly, the CSO will have the highest standards of personal and professional ethics and integrity, as well as a strong work ethic and “team player” mentality
